I love Lion King too and liked even the second one. We’ll always have the original and the original will always be available on DVD, Digital and whatever. This is aimed at 5 year olds for pete’s sake! It’s gonna be corny and not as good as the original anyway, whether they had Simba as a cub or Kirara as the star or not.

To me the animation is pretty good for something made for little kids and I’m glad to see something like this for kids with some effort put into animation and hopefully the series and movie will deliver in character and story as it is nice to look at. They just released the trailer for it and trailers, they’ve been known to be fickle.

You dunno what the show is really like or the tv movie for that matter. This show and movie hasn’t even come out yet and people are still having an uproar about it. That’s a reason to get mad at a show if it’s teaching kids a bad and clear message like that. Now if it were insultingly bad like Teen Titans Go!, where they do shit like make an episode where the message is “Cartoons are just for kids only! Any adults watching it are losers!”, that sorta thing. To me, it’s a bit more healthy, especially with helping develop more of a caring, nurturing side for kids, as well as help them see the beauty and wonder that the world has to offer through nature. Me, I kinda would probably like this show more than Timon and Pumba since I’m all for a show that teaches kids animals and the importance of preserving wildlife. Does it hold up? Not in the slightest no but whatever. Me personally, I don’t hate it as I did watch the series. Shoot, it even made fun of the movie at times and yet most people have fond memories of the show and dare not speak against it. It’s harmless at best and speaking of which, did anyone remember “Timon and Pumba” show? That had nothing but slap stick comedy, modern day references and hardly anything spiritual or wonder as the original Lion King movie. I wasn’t even mad or remotely annoyed at “Lion King 1 1/2″ Did I think it was good? Mmmm….Not completely. Of course nothing can come remotely like it. You’re getting mad about a show and movie aimed at 5 year olds! This show and movie is aimed at little little kids! It’s not aimed for adults or all ages like Lion King originally was and Lion King the movie itself, is untouchable. To me, all those comments are stupid and you know why I think that way?
I mean, I know a lot of people keep saying stuff like “Oh this ruins Lion King!” and “I hate Kion! Why not Kiara?” and all that stuff. My response was “Okay.” without even second thought. So you’re probably wondering, how I feel when I first heard and finally watched the trailer to the new TV movie “The Lion Guard” as well as the new TV series. EVERYTHING! I had a Lion King bed room while most girls my age had princess bed rooms with Ariel, Cinderella and all that. I had all the Lion King merchandise from drink cups to shirts, even wall sticker decorations, bed sheets. I loved this movie and I still do! It’s untouchable. Here’s my true thoughts of Lion Guard and whether or not if I think Lion King is a rip off of Kimba.Īs a 90s kid, I grew up watching Lion King.
